Ever since I finished the third book in this series, I couldn't wait to get to this book. I moved up this book to the top of my TBR pile forgoing all other books just so I could read more about Scotty and the rest of the gang in her adventures. This book takes us away from the Hollywood scene and focuses instead on Scotty and Karissa's relationship. Both characters do a lot of growing up in this book from their experiences at the children's home. It's quite interesting at the different ends of the spectrum both girls were at. The two of them, while disliking each other greatly, shared a common bond in that they both thought they knew better than each other. However as their stay at the home continues, both learn valuable lesson in humility and maturity.
The part of the story I really wanted to get to was finding out more about Scotty's past. Without spoiling for those who haven't read the other two books, more and more is revealed about Scotty's family and it's very intriguing with each discovery. In this book all is finally told and I'll just say it's satisfying yet a bit sad at the same time. I also really liked where she ended up at the end of the story. It's a lovely place to live.
I was really sad to see this series end. I have really grown to love Scotty and her adventures. She has been one of the most refreshing heroines I have ever read in a YA series. As this book is the fourth book in the series, it is highly recommended that you read the first three before getting to this one. If you just jump into this one, you will be highly confused and will miss a lot of story line and character development. I have absolutely no complaints with this book at all. This books are labeled Christian fiction but I really feel that any YA reader will really enjoy these books. Lisa Samson is a wonderful writer in general but this series has shown that she also knows how to speak to teens and write in voice that they can relate to. If she ever comes out with another YA series, I will jump at the first opportunity to get my hands on it. Seriously this series is VERY HIGHLY recommended from me.

Sigh! It's the perfect ending to an amazing story. In Goodbye Hollywood Nobody, by Lisa Samson, Scotty and her dad are on a mission: find Babette, Scotty's mom. But the journey to Maine only seems to give another dead end. Scotty pushes her sorrow to the back of her mind as she heads to the Red River Home for Children in Kentucky to volunteer, in search of ways to be more Jesusy.
Seth Haas calls and mentions that his ex, Karissa, is in trouble. Scotty, in a very Jesusy moment, invites Karissa to the Red River Home, hoping that the actress might find God herself. Scotty loves the children at the home, especially baby Silas. She feels a connection to her mother as she holds the baby. God is good.
Karissa shows up in a red convertible, toting enough luggage for a European cruise. The workers at the children's home quickly put her in her place, but it's not until Karissa carelessness causes a major accident that the actress wakes up. Can Scotty do the most Jesusy thing yet and forgive the Karissa for everything?
Ever since book one, Lisa Sampson has created a story that tops itself. Where this one wasn't as funny as the first, it's rightly so. Scotty is still as charming as ever, but she's discovering what's important in life. As she nears her eighteenth birthday, Scotty is proof that all a girl really needs in her life is a relationship with Jesus.
Standing ovation.

GOODBYE HOLLYWOOD NOBODY is the final installment in the HOLLYWOOD NOBODY saga by Lisa Samson. This quirky series, aimed towards teens and young adults is a wonderfully enjoyable series. Throughout the four books you follow Scotty Fitzgerald as she travels the states with her unique family situation and eccentric lifestyle. Not wanting to give away any spoilers, I enjoyed watching Scotty mature as she was faced with both wonderful and difficult situations. GHN deals with Scotty coming of age, and stepping out into the dating world, but was handled with grace and wholesomeness. I would just say that I¡¯m not one to read quirky or rompy style writing, but I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

This book was bittersweet for me. I loved it as much if not more than the other books in this series, but I have that nagging feeling that this is the end of the line for these characters and its like saying good-bye to a bunch of friends. This is one YA series that you should read no matter what age you are - it is not inappropriate for the younger crowd (my daughter Sarah - 12) and yet it is truly enjoyable for the mid crowd (me - 33) and the older crowd (my mother-in-law - 63). They are a good investment :-) Just as this book came in and I breezed through it and then my mother-in-law did likewise, Sarah started the first book. She couldn't hardly put it down and went immediately into the second book "Finding Hollywood Nobody". I expect her to be diving into "Romancing Hollywood Nobody" anytime now and I know she's thrilled that I have this last one so she won't have to wait to find out how everything ends. Basically my review comes down to this - I'm not sure I've read another series that I can so highly recommend to any age group - I totally love it!

You will enjoy reading this fun series of books ending with Goodbye Hollywood Nobody. Scotty is a young girl who has an "interesting" life and finds herself in situations that are not only unusual but she grows from them as well. I don't want to say too much and risk spoiling the story for you. But I will say that I would recommend this series for teens and young adults.
